The “Writing Tab” is the next one we will work on. Not much on this page that needs adjusted, we will move down to the “Update Services” section.
This tells you which services the blog is “pinging” (notifying) every time you make a post.
Your screen probably looks like this.
This indicates that only one news service is being notified. You want WordPress to notify all the major ones each time you publish a new post!
Because copying and pasting from one site to another often includes hidden information we are going to follow a process to remove any hidden coding from the following list.
1. Copy and paste the following list into a plain text editor such as Notepad (NotePad is found in the programs on your computer. Often it is listed under Assessories.)
http://rpc.pingomatic.com/
http://1470.net/api/ping
http://api.moreover.com/RPC2
http://bblog.com/ping.php
http://blog.goo.ne.jp/XMLRPCsub.com/ping
http://blogmatcher.com/u.php
http://blogsearch.google.com/ping/RPC2
http://www.blogpeople.net/servlet/weblogUpdates
http://bulkfeeds.net/rpc
http://coreblog.org/ping/
http://ping.myblog.jp
http://ping.weblogalot.com/rpc.php
http://ping.feedburner.com
http://ping.bitacoras.com
http://ping.bloggers.jp/rpc/
http://ping.blogmura.jp/rpc/
http://rpc.pingomatic.com/
http://ping.syndic8.com/xmlrpc.php
http://rpc.weblogs.com/RPC2
http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping
http://topicexchange.com/RPC2

2. Save it in Notepad.
3. Then copy it again from Notepad into your “Update Services” text box.
You won’t see the whole list since the text box doesn’t expand – but you can scroll through it.
4. Click on “Save Changes” when your editing is done!
Now every time you post something, WordPress will automatically notify each of these sites. You do NOT need to do anything manually.
Congratulations, you have completed the Writing Settings. Now you are ready to move on to the Reading Settings.
